Solving the Service Dilemma

       Intelio spent a great deal of time examining the service problems that occur with other activation units.  One statistic provided by a major petroleum customer was that a broken activation unit can represent up to 20% of a car wash site's overall monthly downtime.  Not included in that figure are the additional nagging issues such as dirty magnetic card readers not properly reading credit cards, the receipt printer paper running out and no one knowing it, dollar bill jams, no change given etc. These issues are major inconveniences for both the operator and the customer. They are also service nightmares for you.

        In studying these problems, it turns out that virtually every devise in any activation unit (such as a bill dispenser) is driven by the device's firmware. (FYI: firmware is miniature software code needed to make the device perform). In many cases, the firmware code is poorly written by its manufacturer - leading to many of the problems previously mentioned.

        So Intelio built from the ground up an activation unit designed to better monitor and manage these firmware issues.  We implemented a patent pending I/O unit that interfaces with every component in the activation unit. Whenever an issue occurs with a devise, this I/O unit can instantly power off and power on that devise - an  automatic reboot if you will - to reset the devise and fix the problem. (This is very similar to the automatic reset feature on most inbay automatic car washes). In almost all cases, the problem is resolved. If that doesn't work, we have the capability to remotely reboot the entire activation unit and bring it back up in seconds - without a tech ever needing to visit the site.

In addition, ActiVA has the capability to send out extensive real-time error codes regarding the activation unit as well to keep the operator informed on such things as when coin dispensers need refilling, dollar bills are getting low, and that the receipt printer is almost out of paper

        The other related service that we wanted to address was the difficulty in techs diagnosing and then replacing damaged sub components. Again, we designed the entire unit from the ground up to more easily handle this issue.  All of ActiVA's components are built on 6 major modules. Instead of having to trouble shoot some part, techs can now just pull out the entire module and plug a new one in.  We back this process up with phone tech support and a one year warranty that covers the module and next business day shipping.
