ActiVA's Structural Advantage to Price/Performance

Our overall driving goal was to come out with the most robust, fully featured activation unit on the market today - bar none.

Once the design specification and feature set was done, our next goal was to be able to sell this unit at an extremely affordable price point without sacrificing quality or reliability.  We accomplished this as well.  The base unit (including credit card acceptance, the human interface, the 15" display, cash and coin acceptance and the security package), retails at a price point slightly higher than that of a fully configured Wash Select II - yet offers functionality that exceeds a Portal TI or an ICS unit.

A Complete Feature Set AND an Extremely Low Price - HOW?

We began by looking outside the car wash industry to find other companies who were bringing products to market that had the most features and the highest quality - yet at a price point significantly lower than the competition. These are the "Market Killer" products that you occasionally hear about. In virtually every instance, these companies were developing their products in the USA, outsourcing the production overseas, shipping the product back to the USA to perform final the kitting, integration, customization and testing, and then selling the finished product to their customers.  Hundreds of huge name brand companies all successfully use this process – yet virtually no one in the car wash industry does.

We then hired Curt Brown to lead this production initiative.  Now, Curt is no ordinary person. He earned an undergraduate degree at Cal Tech and holds a double Masters from MIT. Curt spent two decades at Hewlett Packard and was part of the team that invented the popular HP ink cartridge replacement process. In other past lives, Curt was chief technology officer at Seagate and was executive vice president at Iomega. Within these roles, Curt managed multiple overseas manufacturing initiatives.

Curt now runs our entire manufacturing process for us.  His organization includes a key member who's stationed in Taiwan to oversee our daily manufacturing process.  The result: we now design ActiVA here, produce our activation unit overseas in a high quality and structured manufacturing environment, perform the final kitting and integration work here and deliver our customized products to our customers at a comparatively great price point.
